Inside the “black box” there is a two-way mirror
(semi-reflecting mirror). Two children are sitting on opposite sides
of the mirror and can vary the amount of light illuminating their
faces. If the intensity of the light illuminating each partner’s
face is appropriate, the children can see a composite image, where
the features of the two faces are fused in one.
