Treviso is located on a plain and it’s
about 15 metres above the sea-level.
Its latitude is about 12 degrees and its longitude is about 12 degrees.
It is situated in the Veneto region, about 30 km
North-West of Venice, which is the capitol of the region, known worldwide
for its wonderful and unique lagoon.
Treviso has about 83 thousand inhabitants and it is crossed
by the Sile river and by its numerous tributaries.
Besides its numerous bridges, along the Sile river there are still some
old wooden water mills.
Treviso is a medieval town rich in monuments and historical squares such
as “Piazza dei Signori”. The town is enclosed by 15th
century walls along which there are public gardens and gates wich are
the gateway to the town. |
