A circular man-made hole was found on the hill opposite the temple of Mnajdra. Its location seemed completely out of place and disconnected with Mnajdra. Further studies proved otherwise. The diameter of the hole is 35 cm and the hole is about 60 cm deep. The hole with a pole in it becomes a marker easily visible from Mnajdra. See the other pages to understand the use of this pole in relation with the marking of the winter solstice. |
