After years of studio session work and live performances in Miami, Los Angeles and Hollywood, CARIS ARKIN had already compiled a list of credits including tour and recording work for RCA and A&M recording artists, as well as soundtrack work on projects for COLUMBIA MOTION PICTURES and UNITED ARTISTS FILMS.

Moving on to New York, Caris continued to showcase his own material (solo and with his band) at such venues as Folk City and the Bitter End Cafe along with other spots on Greenwich Village's Bleecker Street and also at the Lone Star Roadhouse, CBGB's , and The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

Born Jeffrey Lee Arkin in Miami Florida, Arkin's name was legally changed at the age of ten to Christopher Jordan Arkin and in fact "Caris" worked for many years throughout the state of Florida as Chris Jordan while leading a trio called Lemmings.

After the California and New York periods mentioned above came a tour of the Northeast United States as acoustic guitarist and bassist for Annie Haslam (featured vocalist for the highly acclaimed English band Renaissance.)
While promoting Annie's Epic Records CD, the band enjoyed return engagements at Philadelphia's Theater of the Living Arts, and at the Bottom Line Cabaret in New York City.
Caris still talks of what an enjoyable honor it was to tour with Annie and to have the privilege of getting to sing the harmonies with her that were handled on her album by Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues and also to sing with her on hits by Paul Simon as well as all of the Renaissance classics such as Ocean Gypsy, Mother Russia, and Carpet of the Sun.

Caris was later invited to Japan, where he performed for six months as a member of O.T.O. Productions' international troupe of theatrical entertainers at Nagasaki's Holland Village.

Studied acting at Manhattan's HB STUDIOS under the wings of William Hickey.
Caris appeared in a Vestron Video Movie and went on to take the lead role in a musical about the life of Saint Francis of Assisi .
The play was produced and performed in India at the "Meher Performing Arts Center" and he was commissioned to compose original music and songs for the production.

Caris Arkin's first solo album, THE UNSTOPPABLE TRAIN was recorded in New York and released in 1992 on the independent WorkHorse label. Caris then moved to Italy where he produced a second solo project, Hectors of Sunflowers in 1993. Next came the much talked about The Diving Horse on which two years of work was almost completed in 1997.

Later, Caris performed the title song for the soundtrack of The Birth of Time, a film by French producer Jean-Marie Benjamin, while he continued to be involved with concerts for Amnesty International and The United Artists for Peace.

Caris continues to live near Assisi, Italy where he is currently recording his fourth or fifth album while fronting the band Tartufo Dogs.
