On the right side at the end of the facade of the Tarxien First temple, is a group of stones with a formation that has not been found in any other Maltese temple. The slab in the middle has five holes, and one of the slabs on the side has another. No-one has come up with a reasonable explanation to what this formation could have been used for. A similar arrangement of stones is found on the other end of the facade, but what remains there, are only the foundation stones (same form and size), but no holes are visible.
