| Underneath one of the huge slabs that form the floor of the main apse of the Middle Tarxien Temple, a roller stone ball was left in place by the builders. Thus this is proof that the roller stone balls, found on many Maltese megalithic sites, were used for the transportation of the megaliths. See illustration. |
