| This is a cross section drawing done after the early excavation of the Hypogeum by Fr. Emmanuel Magri, the first to excavate the site in 1903. Unfortunately Fr Magri was transferred to Tunisia, where he died. Due to this, very few notes that he had recorded during the excavation are available today. |
Sir Temi Zammit was the person who took up the work after Magri to continue the excavation and clearing of the site between 1905-1911. |
